Christo Brand
Christo Brand grew up on a small farm in the Western Cape of South Africa before joining the prison service at the age of 19. In 1978, he was assigned to Robben Island, where he met Nelson Mandela and developed a unique relationship of trust and mutual respect during Mandela’s years of imprisonment.
